On Sunday, January 29, 2023, Dwight J. McKinley returned to the loving arms of our Savior Jesus Christ to rest in his heavenly presence.  He was born February 13, 1983 to Dwight & Karla McKinley.

At an early age, he showed signs of Independence and character, spelling each word he learned, with the help of his big sister watching over him.  Dwight was on the honor roll all through school.  He attended the Hampton City School, graduating from Bethel High School.

He later attended Virginia Union University, eventually becoming a professional ICU Critical Care Clinician in several hospitals, including; Riverside Regional Medical Center; also traveling to various states for FEMA during the height of the pandemic, risking his health and well being.   Dwight was licensed in several states.  He was a helper and giver to all, not just his patients.

Dwight was a loving son, brother, grandson, uncle and friend.  Left to cherish his memory are his parents, Dwight & Karla McKinley; his sister, AJ (Shawn); his nephews, Dquawn & Zyquail; his uncle, Rickey (Paulette); his cousins and a host of friends he called family.

Viewing will be held Thursday, February 16, 2023 from 11:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. at Cooke Bros. Funeral Chapel, 1601-27th Street, Newport News, VA 23607.  A funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m., Friday, February 17, 2023 at the funeral home chapel.  The Entombment will follow in Hampton Memorial Gardens.
