William Henry Tate Aka "Sweet Willie from Phili" MSGT William Henry Tate (Ret) departed this life on November 29, 2014. William was born in Philadelphia, PA on December 24, 1943, to the late David and Edith Tate. He was preceded in death by his wife Mable Irene Brown Tate, Elizabeth Buckner (Big Ma); a brother James "Jimmie" Tate; a sister, Dorothy "Dot" Smith. He leaves to cherish his memories daughters: Cynthia Culliver (Chris) of Waynesville, MO and Mandy Tate of Alexandria, VA; five grandchildren, two brothers, a sister; and a host of relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held at Bethel Manor Chapel (1793 1st Ave, Hampton, VA) on Friday, December 5, 2014 at 1:00p.m. The family will receive friends two hours prior to the service. Interment will follow in Hampton Memorial Gardens at 155 Butler Farm Road. A repast will be held following the interment at the Retired Armed Forces Club, 398 Union Street, Hampton.
