Willis "Pete" Williams, Jr., 68, entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, November 24, 2021 at his home in Hampton, VA.  He was born on January 13, 1953 in Littleton, North Carolina to the late Willis Williams, Sr. and Alice Smith Williams.

Pete accepted Christ at an early age while attending Macedonia Baptist Church in Emporia, VA.  After his family moved to Hampton, VA in 1963, he attended public schools and graduated from Pembroke High School in 1971.  He later served in the United States Air Force and attended the Apprentice School at Newport News Shipbuilding.  He held several jobs after the military, but was most fond of his culinary skills he perfected as a cook in several restaurants.  He eventually became a brick mason and was self-employed in his own company until his death.

Pete was a very kindhearted and generous person and had numerous friends.  He was the guy who never met a stranger, the brother that would give you the shirt off his back, his last dollar.  He was very well known throughout his travels because he was so kind, a happy soul and had such a joyful and inviting personality.  He loved all sports, was a wrestler in high school, and was a life long Redskins fan.

The most exceptional love in his life was the love of family.  He adored his Mother and praised his three sons.  He was exceptionally proud of them and bragged on them every opportunity he got.  He also enjoyed getting together with his siblings to play cards, watch sports and have a good time.  We love him and he will be in our hearts and memory forever.

Pete was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, and one brother, (Kinnie L. Williams).  He leaves to cherish his memory, three sons, Willis Williams, III (Karen), Troy J. Williams, Sr. (Jennifer) and Pierre Trower. One brother, Calvin L. Williams, four sisters, Shirley Powell (Kenneth Sr.), Ella Chambers, Betty J. Browning (Everett), and Marjorie Williams.  Fond memories of hugs and lots of love are left to his 5 grandchildren, Precious, Mikaylah, Maliyah, Troy, Jr. and Tyson. One great-grandson (Princeton) and a host of uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Viewing will be held from 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. followed by a Celebration of Life service starting at 12:00 noon Thursday, December 2, 2021 at Cooke Bros. Funeral Chapel, 1601-27th Street, Newport News, VA.
