Trilla Marie Ramage of Hampton VA, died at Northampton Nursing and Rehabilitation Center after a long fight with breast cancer, with friends and family at her side. Trilla was born in Newton, NJ and spent her childhood on the Rutger's Agricultural Station at Lusscroft in Wantage Township, NJ. Her family moved to Kendall Park, NJ in 1968, where she attended South Brunswick High School. Trilla was an honor graduate at Livingston College, in New Brunswick, NJ.
Trilla was an award winning newspaper reporter, a photographer, and a desk editor. During her journalism career she worked at The New Jersey Herald, The Weekly Post (DE), The Princeton Packer (NJ), The Daily Intelligencer (PA), and The Daily Press (VA). Together, Trilla and her beloved husband, Robert Barab, travelled the world and ran his photography business together. Trilla also worked as a Home Care Assistant in Hampton VA. Trilla was a published and award winning Poet.
Ms. Ramage had many dear friends that she kept in close contact with all her life. Trilla stayed at her home in Hampton Va, following her husband's death, in large part, due to the love and support she received from her church family at St. James United Methodist Church. She enjoyed participating in church activities and services. Through various committees, she tirelessly worked to keep "Inclusion" in Methodist Church policy.
Trilla was predeceased in death by her father, Dr. Carroll H. Ramage (2002) and mother, Lois P. Moses, ( 2013 ), her beloved husband Robert Barab (2011), her brother Troy P. Ramage (2019), and Brother-In-Law Norman "Craig" Jones (2022). She is survived by her sisters Trudy E. Chara (Edward), Tresa V. Jones, Twila L.OConnell (Kevin), Carol Lee Little "Ramage" Reevie (Alex), and nieces and nephews Vaughn Ramage (Michelle), Stacey (Chara) Groncki, Spencer E. Chara, Jaqlyne R. (Jones) Shultz (Caine) and Shannon T. OConnell (Joe Perry III), Step-Father Willis Moses, and their families of great and grand nieces and nephews.
A private ceremony will be held at a later dater, when Trilla's ashes will be interred in The Memorial Garden at Kirkridge Retreat Center in Bangor, PA. We will never forget her joyous smile and loving hugs.
