In Loving Memory

Thomas Edward Gupton , 79, entered eternal peace on Sunday, February 4, 2024.  Thomas was born on December 9, 1944, the son of Thomas and Emma Gupton.

He graduated from G. C. Hawley High School in 1962.  He had a long 40+ years career in the grocery industry, working with Giant, Safeway and Farm Fresh, until his retirement in the mid-2010s.

Thomas was a long-time member of the Hampton Moose Lodge #1514.  He enrolled on August 25, 2005 and took the next level step in the degree of service, becoming a Moose Legionnaire on February 17,2007.  Thomas was involved in many Moose activities that supported his lodge and the local community.  He was awarded "Moose of the Year" in 2017.

Thomas was a loving father and doting grandfather who enjoyed spending time with his twin granddaughters.  For many years, Thomas enjoyed DJing at parties and other social events, where he kept the party jumping!  Another fond memory of him, joyously shared by his granddaughters, was seeing him sport his favorite attire of choice – a 2-piece matching sweatsuit, a particular gray one being his favorite. 😊

Thomas leaves to cherish his memory his beloved daughter, Shimel Morris (Redic) of Ashburn, VA; twin granddaughters, Traevia and Taylor Morris; brother, Bernard Gupton (Adell) of Newport News, VA; sister-in-law, Marie Spratley of Virginia Beach, VA; brother-in-law, Milton Watson (Celeste) of Philadelphia, PA; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends, among them Teresa Brock and Kimberly Kirkley, who both graciously provided health care support.

He is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Delores; his parents, Thomas, and Emma; and, his in-laws, Ernest and Junius (Barbara) Watson.

Viewing will be held from 9:00 a.m. until the start of the Celebration of Life service staring at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, February 17, 2024 at Cooke Bros. Funeral Chapel.
