Thaddeus “Thad” Dewayne Kelley 61, the son of the late Estelle Kelley, received the call home on July 3, 2026. Thad was born on December 28, 1964 in Newport News, Va. We received his education from the Newport News Public Schools. He accepted Christ into his life and was baptized at Macedonia Baptist church. Thad worked several years with the City of Newport News, as a Master Equipment Operator and also served as a Bus Operator for HART in Hampton, Va.. 

Thad enjoyed entertaining people as a lead singer in the Fireball Connection Band. They performed at many events throughout the city. To the family, Thad was known as the master griller at many family barbecues. He was known as the man who always enjoyed getting the family together to have loads of laughter and simply having a good time making memories that will be cherished forever. Thad leaves to cherish, his best friend fluffy the feline cat “Princess”. His longtime girlfriend of 21 years Veronica “Roni” Artis of Newport News, a uncle David “Winnie” Kelley, and a host of many cousins and friends

A memorial service will be held 12 Noon, Friday, September 4, 2026 at Macedonia Baptist Church, 5500 Marshall Avenue, Newport News, Va.
