To everything there is a season, a time for every purpose under Heaven. A time to be born and a time to die.

On Tuesday, August 8, 2023 following a short hospital stay Teri Tanika Ann Wilson left sickness behind, dawned her wings and entered eternal rest.

Teri Tanika Ann Wilson, was born into this life to the late Lawrence O Hockaday and Karen Cutchin-Hockaday on February 8, 1975. Teri graduated from Warwick High School in 1993. She studied Accounting at Norfolk State University. She was a dedicated employee of Newport News Waterworks with over 11 years of service. Teri had a real love of baking especially cupcakes

Teri was preceded in death by her husband, Michael Wilson Jr.; father, Lawrence Hockaday; mother, Karen Cutchin-Hockaday; and mother-in-law, Cynthia Wilson.

She leaves to cherish her loving memory her children, Makayla and Madison Wilson of Newport News; brother, Chief Lawrence Cutchin stationed in Denver Colorado; sister, Candice Cutchin of Newport News; father-in-law, Michael Wilson Sr.; and sister-in-law, Monique Wilson both of Chicago.

Teri had an awesome support system who will miss her dearly, Pamela Johnson of Hopewell, Terry Gatling of Newport News, her Waterworks Family, the Godfather's of her children, Raphael Brown of Suffolk and Bryan Wilson of Chicago; the family dog, Bentley and a host of relatives and friends.

Teri Wilson was the backbone of her family. She was loved and admired by her family and peers. The most important task in her life was to be a wife and mother. If you knew Teri often spoke of her children and the amazing accomplishments and memories that she had with them. She was a strong woman battling cancer with all she was worth and all she had to be there for her family. Her battle was lost but the strength it took to fight will live on in our hearts forever.

Viewing will be held Friday, August 18, 2023 from 11:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. at  Cooke Bros. Funeral Chapel, 1601-27th Street, Newport News,Va.  A funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 19 2023 at Cooke Bros. Funeral Chapel.  Her Entombment will follow in Hampton Memorial Gardens, 155 Butler Farm Road, Hampton, Va.
