Mrs. Shirley Gene Clark Richardson, age 88 , passed away on January 8, 2026 in the Waterview Health and Rehabilitation Center.  She was born June 22, 1937 in Littleton, NC., to  the late Jimmy Clark and Sarah Sneed.

Shirley was preceded in death by her siblings, Willie Mae Moore and Otha "Nick" Clark.  Ms. Shirley was raised by Mr. & Mrs. Tom Graham (Creesie Graham).  She moved her family to Newport News to start a family, which she had six children.  She was preceded in death by her sister, Willie Mae Moore, and her son's Anthony Richardson, Ronald Richardson, and his wife, Barbara Richardson, also, Johnnell R. Neal.

Shirley attended Riverside Nursing School, where she became a nurses assistant (CNA).  She worked at James River Nursing facility (10 years), until she retired.  Nursing was her passion in loving and taking care of the elderly.  Her hobby's was crochet and puzzle books.

She leaves to cherish her memory; two sons, Everette (Carolyn) Richardson, Jimmy Richardson; two daughters, Wanda Davis and DeBora Grant.  She has 32 grandchildren, 53 great-grandchildren.  She has special family, and a host of friends.

A memorial service will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 17, 2026 at Cooke Bros. Funeral Chapel, 1601-27th Street, Newport News, Va. 23607.
