Ruth Elaine Reavis' Obituary
Ruth Elaine Reavis departed this life Thursday, August 6, 2026, at her home in Hampton, VA. Ruth was born to the late Jerry and Willie Belle Bowers of Newport News, VA. She was a graduate of Huntington High School. She furthered her education by attending night school, taking courses in Accounting and Music at Hampton Institute (Hampton University). Ruth worked as a bookkeeper and teller for Crown Savings Bank in Newport News, a historical African American owned community bank founded in 1908.
A Memorial Service for Ruth Elaine Reavis will be held on Saturday, August 29, 2026, 11:00 am, at Parklawn-Wood Funeral Home, 2551 N Armistead Avenue, Hampton, VA 23666.
