Rose Scott, a beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on August 30, 2026, at the age of 82. Rose was a hardworking and devoted woman who dedicated much of her life to caring for her children and family. She was a loving mother who always put her family first. Rose worked hard throughout her life and proudly retired from Christopher Newport University, where she was respected for her dedication and commitment. she was proceeded in deathe by her eldest son Ph.D. Jesse Scott Rose will be remembered for the love she gave to her family and the special place she held in the hearts of those who knew her.

 She was loved deeply by her family and friends, and her memory will continue to live on through the people whose lives she touched. Rose is survived by her children: Anthony Scott, Frances Scott, Michelle Scott, and Jessica Scott; and her grandchildren: Thomas Scott, Ari Scott, and Arielle Scott. Although Rose is no longer with us, the love she gave, the memories she created, and the lessons she taught will remain in our hearts forever. 

Rest peacefully, Mom. You were loved, you are missed, and you will never be forgotten.

A memorial service will be held 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 8, 2026 at Cooke Bros. Funeral Chapel, 1601-27th Street, Newport News, Va.
