Ms. Robin Denise Askew, age 68, was called home unexpectedly to be with the Lord on July 3, 2026. "Jesus said to her, I am the resurrection  and the life. He who believes in me will live. Even though he dies; and whoever lives and believes in me will never die. Do you believe this?-John 11: 25-26.

Robin was born on November 2, 1957 in Ahoskie, North Carolina to the late parents of Shirley Askew Everett and Calvin Boone. Robin graduated from Warwick High School in 1975 and after graduation from high school, she left to attend the school of her earnest desire, Howard University and she was a proud graduate student class of 1980. After completing Howard University, she joined the United States armed forces(Army) and served 4 years. After completing her 4 years in the Army she was a reservist. While serving time in the Army she met and married Bernard Haynes.

Robin was preceded in death by her parents, Shirley Everett and Calvin Boone, her son Michael Allen I and Michael Allen II, and her brother, Michael Askew.

Robin is survived by two children, son Jordan and daughter, Mikayla; two grandchildren Jahari and Trayvon; three sisters, Mercedes, Tracie and Wanda(Thomas); nieces Courtney, Porsche, Miata; nephews, Thomas III(Shavonda), Jaguar, Marquis and goddaughter Tomika Artis. Extended family Boone's, extended family Allen's. She leaves behind several cousins and a circle of friends. 

A celebration of life service will be held 12 Noon, Friday, July 17, 2026 at Restoration & Faith Church, 2114 Wickham Avenue, Newport News, Va.
