Raymond Thomas Williams, Sr., 75, of Glen Burnie, MD., passed away on Wednesday, October 9, 2024, with his family by his side.  Mr. Williams, better known as "Thomas" , was born on December 21, 1948, in Northampton County, North Carolina.

Thomas lived a life characterized by service and commitment.  He proudly served his country as a retired United States Army Sergeant, participating in both the Vietnam War and Operation Desert Storm.  His contributions to the military were reflective of his strong character and profound sense of duty, traits that continued to define him throughout his life as a dedicated technician for the Department of Defense at ECS-86 Ft. Meade.  Thomas applied his skills with unwavering dedication, ensuring the effectiveness and safety of various defense initiatives.  His professional journey was marked by a commitment to excellence and a deep sense of responsibility.

Thomas was preceded in death by his parents, Carmen Williams, Sr. and Iris Williams; his brothers, Alphonso, Gene, Donnie, Carmen Jr.; his sisters, Mary Williams, and Louise Webb.

Thomas is survived by his beloved wife of 54 years, Doris L. Williams; his daughter, Shamone Williams (Natasha); his son, Raymond Williams, Jr. (Alyssa); his grandchildren, Julianna Williams, Natalia Williams, Courtney Williams (Josh) and Giuseppi Williams; his siblings, Michael Williams, Sr. (Dianne), Felicia Ellis (Larry), and Marva Mitchell; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Viewing will be held Sunday, October 20, 2024 from 9:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. at Cooke Bros. Funeral Chapel, 1601-27th Street, Newport News, Va.  Funeral services will be held 12:00 Noon, Monday, October 21, 2024 at the funeral chapel.  Interment will follow in Hampton Memorial Gardens.
