Quentin Antoine Boyce, was born on January 4, 1952. He answered the call of the Lord to enter eternal rest on December 16, 2023. He was preceded in death by his parents, Cleophus and Louise Boyce.

Quentin graduated from Newport News High School in 1971 and continued his education at Norfolk State University. He was a member of St. Johns C.O.G.I.C., where he played the drums in the Young Adult Choir. He was a gifted musician, also playing the bongos in two gospel groups, Children of the World and the Don DeGrate Delegation.

Quentin had a long and impactful career with the Newport News Fire Department, serving over 30 years, while rising to the rank of Captain. He was dedicated to his profession and worked diligently to train others and serve as a role model.

Left to cherish his memory is his son, Andre Boyce; and his grandson, Dylan Boyce, both of Virginia. Also, left to cherish his memory are one uncle and aunt, Melvin and Mary Melton of Newport News, and a host of cousins, other relatives, and friends.

A memorial service will be held 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 27, 2023 at Cooke Bros. Funeral Chapel, 1601-27th Street, Newport News, Va. 23607
