To God Be the Glory! Patricia A. Jones, 57 , of Hampton, VA., was called to eternal rest on October 14, 2023 after a long illness at Sentara Hospital-Hampton, surrounded by her family and friends.

Patricia Jones was born on June 10, 1966 to Alex and Jessie Jones in Jersey City, New Jersey.  She was the middle child in the family.   Patricia graduated from Saint Mary High School in 1984.  In 1985, she joined the United States Navy, as a Communication Specialist where she served her country for 10 years.

After being honorable discharged from the Navy, Patricia worked for the United States Postal Service as Clerk in Newport News, VA.  She was the Newport News Marriage Commissioner for 14 years, this was her true passion.  She really enjoyed providing this service to loving couples.

Patricia joined Gethsemane Baptist Church in Newport News, Va. in the early 2000s.   Her favorite person in the Bible was Solomon and she really enjoyed reading the book of Hebrews.  Patricia's honesty and pure heart endeared her to love her family and loving savior Jesus Christ.

Patricia was a joyous person.  She really enjoyed being a Grandmother. "A garden of love grows in a Grandmother's heart." She really adored and spoiled her grandsons, Trenton and Avery.  She loved shopping and decorating.  She enjoyed and loved her family.  She would often host parties at her home for family and friends.  She was truly the life of the party and believed in Luke 12: 19-20; "eat, drink and be merry".

Patricia was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, daughter, wife, sister and aunt, cousin and friend.  Patricia was loved beyond measure.  If you knew her, you were blessed by her presence.  Much can be said about Patricia but no words can express how much she will be missed.

Patricia Jones was preceded in death by father: Alex Jones.

She leaves to cherish her memories her mother: Jessie Jones; children: Patrick and Patrina; husband: Ronald Reid; Brother: Alex Jones Jr. / sister in law, "Lee-Lee"; sister: Theresa Jones; grandsons: Trenton and Avery; nephews: Bryant and Montrae; niece: Ty'azjah; and a host of family and friends. Viewing will be held Thursday, October 19, 2023 from 11:30 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. at Cooke Bros. Funeral Chapel, 1601-27th Street, Newport News, Va.  A graveside service will be held 3:00 p.m, Tuesday, October 24, 2023 at Albert G. Horton, Jr., 5310 Milners Road, Suffolk, VA.
