Nicole Nicholson, a cherished wife, mother, daughter, sister and friend, passed away peacefully on December 13th, 2025, at the age of 55. Nicole's warmth, kindness, passion for those less fortunate and unwavering love touched everyone who had the privilege of knowing her. She had the biggest heart of anyone you would want to know. Though she had been ill for many months, she bore her sickness well and complained not.

Born on March 15th, 1970, in New York City and raised in Suffolk, VA. Nicole lived a life filled with compassion and purpose. She dedicated herself to her family, education and giving back, always putting others first. Her passion for children- specifically at-risk youth and elementary education, brought joy and inspiration to those around her. She enjoyed music, shopping, traveling and of course food!

Nicole is survived by her loving husband, Len Nicholson, her devoted daughter, Lauryn, her beautiful sisters, Sonya Saunders, Margo Nzuwah, Cadijah Tibbs-Robinson, her Aunt Martina Campbell, In-laws, Howard L Nicholson Jr., Melvina Nicholson and her many nieces & nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents Earl Griffith and Alma Griffith. She also leaves a host of other family and friends to cherish her beautiful memory.

Nicole will be remembered for her gentle spirit, her infectious laughter, her ability to make everyone feel valued and loved. Her legacy of kindness and strength will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.

A memorial service for Nicole will be held on December 27th at 2pm at Cooke Brothers Funeral Chapel.  1601 27th Street, Newport News, VA 23607. Friends and family are invited to gather and share memories. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The American Heart Association, your local YWCA or the Lupus Foundation of America.
