Obituary

Milton T. Farmer , affectionately called ''pop-pop'', was born on February, 03,1951, to the late Mr. Alfred Greene Tabron and Mrs. Bernice Farmer Mckinnon in Wilson, NC.  Milton proudly graduated from Southern Nash High School in 1971.  Milton and Pamela Lucas of Nashville, NC, first met in high school.  Their love grew over the years, and they were united in marriage, enjoying 50 years of happiness and devotion until his passing in December 2024.  While living in North Carolina, Milton worked as a truck driver. In 1988, he and his family moved to Newport News, VA, where he continued his career for over 30 years, dedicating himself to the profession until his health declined, leading to his retirement.

Milton accepted Jesus Christ at an early age and, later in life, was re-baptized by Pastor Michael L. Sumler at New Grafton Baptist Church.  He was an active member of the Usher Board until his health began to limit his ability.  Milton was a proud family man who cherished spending time with his loved ones.  He was deeply devoted as a husband, father, Pop-Pop, and friend.  Known for his patient guidance, he took great joy in teaching the kids how to drive.  He would always say: ''If you could drive a stick, you could drive anything.''  In his spare time, aside from being with his family, Milton thoroughly enjoyed watching classic Western TV shows, movies, and eating peanut butter.

On December 30, 2024 at Riverside Regional Medical Center, God in His divine wisdom called to eternal rest, Milton T. Farmer.  He was predeceased by his father, Alfred Green Tabron, and survived by his mother, Bernice Farmer McKinnon.  He leaves to cherish his memories: his loving wife, Pamela L. Farmer of Hampton, three children, Kimberly F. Gilliam (Lorenzo) of Newport News, Shauna B. Farmer of Hampton, and Milton G. Farmer (Dionne) of Woodbridge, VA; six grandchildren: Kendra, N'dea, Shaun, Thomas, Shayne, Shaqir, and one great-grandchild; Madison; 2 sisters, 2 aunts,  1 brother and a host of other relatives and friends.
