Milton M. Brooks, Jr. was born May 17, 1953 in Newport News, VA, to the late Milton and Gloridine Brooks.Milton attended Huntington High School in Newport News, VA, the class of 1971, and then attended Hampton University, the Class of 1975.

Milton worked in Human Resources for over 45 years, to include The city of Hampton, The college of William & Mary, CEBAF, James City County School System, Hampton Regional Jail and retiring from Christopher Newport University.

Milton was preceded in death by his parents, brother (Douglas) and sister (Susanne).

He leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife, Joyce of over 43 years (Newport News, VA), daughter Tonya Johnson (Sam) (Hampton, VA). Three brothers: Donald Brooks (Virginia), David Brooks (Gioia) of Atlanta, GA; Michael Brooks (Juanita) of Columbia, S.C. Two sisters: Rosemary Butler of Las Vegas, NV, and Gloria Freeman of Raleigh, N.C., and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends. Gone But Never Forgotten, Submitted in Love, Your Family

A memorial service will be held 2:00 p.m. Friday, September 18, 2026 at Cooke Bros. Funeral Chapel, 1601-27th Street, Newport News, Va. 23607.
