In Loving Memory of Mildred Mobley (1942 – 2025)

Mildred Mobley , a cherished mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on August 5, 2025, at the age of 82.  Born in Newport News, Virginia, Mildred's life was a beautiful tapestry woven with love, resilience, and unwavering devotion to family.

She was the beloved daughter of the late Junious and Otelia Williams, whose nurturing spirit shaped her early years.  Raised in a vibrant and close-knit community, Mildred carried the values of compassion, strength, and grace throughout her life.

Mildred was formerly married to James Mobley, with whom she shared the joy of raising three children: Rana, Brenda, and James.  Her role as a mother was one she embraced with fierce love and gentle wisdom, always putting her children's well-being above all else.

She was also a proud grandmother to her grandchildren, Kizzy Mobley, Chantel Alaniz, Joshua Nelson, and Jazmyn Mobley, who all brought immense joy and light into Mildred's later years.  Their bond was one of laughter, stories, and unconditional love.

Mildred was preceded in death by her siblings, Alexander and Willie Williams, and is survived by her devoted brother, Darryl Williams, who remained a constant source of support and companionship.  Her family circle was her sanctuary, and she held each member close to her heart.

A woman of quiet strength and deep faith, Mildred was known for her warm smile, her soulful spirit, and her ability to make anyone feel at home.  Her stories of growing up in Newport News were rich with history and heart, and she shared them with a twinkle in her eye and a laugh that filled the room.

Her legacy lives on in the lives of those she loved and who loved her in return.  Mildred's memory will be cherished always, a guiding light for generations to come.

Rest in peace. Your love lives on in every heart you touched.
