Mary A. Dorsey entered into eternal rest on Monday, March 20, 2023.  Mary also called be her family "Lil Gal" was born in Scotland Neck, NC on August 23, 1945 to the late Eddie and Callie Dolberry Sr.

Mary was educated in the Weldon North Carolina School System and graduated in 1964 from Weldon High School.  Hours after graduating, Lil Gal moved to Newport News, VA.  She married the late Marshall Dorsey in 1965.  Mary became a dedicated employee at Chase Bag Company in 1978 and remained until she retired in 2000.

Lil Gal loved spending time with her siblings; "The Betties" as we call them.  She was a kind friendly person that created long lasting friendships.  Her passions was playing cards, bingo, doing crossword puzzles, watching Game Show Network, Lifetime movies, and Power.  Despite her illness she loved traveling.

Now rejoicing in heaven with her parents Eddie and Callie Dolberry Sr. and her siblings; Evalene, James, Jessie Mae, Eddie Lee, Harvey, Hazel, William and Doris.

Left to cherish her memories, her beloved daughter; Denise (Lee) of Tyson Corner, VA., loving grandson; Troy Davis (Santana) of Miami, FL., nephew/son; Harvey Clark of Washington, DC, Five sisters; Shirley Crumble and Christine Johnson of Newport News, VA., Ruth Long and Joyce Kearney of Halifax, NC., Patricia Lewis (Eddie) of Roanoke Rapids, NC., brother; Holton M. Dolberry, nieces; Jackie and Keisha Lewis, godson; Randy Goddard Jr., great nieces; LaQuatia Simmons and Tekia Holmes, and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.

Viewing will be held from 9:00 a.m. up until the Celebration of Life service starting at 10:00 a.m. Friday, March 31, 2023 at Cooke Bros. Funeral Chapel.  Entombment will be in Hampton Memorial Gardens.
