Ma'Deesha Cassi-Ann Bassett aka "Sweeta" was born on June 28, 1979 in Newport News, Virginia. Her father, Charles R. Bassett passed away in 2020.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her mother, Linda V. Coles Bassett Hobday (Alonzo); her two sons, "BJ" and Chy'Kez; and her sisters, Rashida and Di Palmer.  Sweeta loved to sing, dance, and put a smile on the faces of her family and friends. She was charismatic, outgoing, and had a loving heart towards anyone she met.

Over time, internal factors caused a change in Sweeta which were beyond her control. Her family and friends were there to support her throughout her journey and will miss her dearly. Before she left this

Earth her family made sure to let her know that they loved her and prayed for her all the time.  Sweeta entered eternal rest on May 20, 2023. We will always love and miss her and will always remember her beautiful smile that could light up a room

A memorial service will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday, June 3, 2023 at Cooke Bros. Funeral Chapel (The Denbigh location) , 14346 Old Courthouse Way, Newport News, Virginia 23602.
