Lillian Louise Pittman Walker, 77, of Hampton, VA, entered her eternal rest on April 24, 2026.
A Valentine Day baby, born on February 14, 1949, in Halifax County, NC, to the late Bertha L. Pittman, Lillian grew up in North Carolina before moving to Newport News, VA where she would graduate from Carver High School, go on to serve a short time in the U.S. Army and later earn her nursing credentials. As a licensed practical nurse, she dedicated 22 years to Mary Immaculate Hospital where she served with dedication and excellence.
She is survived by her husband Robert; her daughters, Hope London (Thurman) of Newport News, Charonia Meekins and Monica Bloodsaw, both of Hampton; her six grandchildren, Chavonia, Kalvon, Kalon, Quiyawna, Keyairra and Kalique and eleven great grandchildren; two sisters, Claudine Graham and Ernestine Smith, both of Newport News; an especially dear sister-in-love, Jackie Walker, whom she affectionately called her “Jack-Jack”; and many beloved nieces and nephews. Lillian was preceded in death by her mother, brother, Sherman Pittman, sister, Vera McNeil and grandson, Sherrod Bloodsaw.
Viewing will be held Thursday, May 7, 2026 from 11:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. at Cooke Bros. Funeral Chapel, 1601-27th Street, Newport News, Va. 23607. A funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, May 8, 2026 at Calvary Seventh Day Adventist Church, 1200-17th Street, Newport News, Va. 23607. Interment will follow in Hampton Memorial Gardens.
