Leon A. Richardson, 54, of Newport News, VA departed on March 26, 2024. He was born in Islip, Long Island, NY on June 22, 1969, to William & Vernell Richardson.

He grew up in Wyandanch, Long Island and in 1996, moved his family to Newport News, VA. He was employed by Cousin's Towing, where he enjoyed working & wearing his many hats. Leon will be remembered for his dope personality, contagious laughs, hilarious jokes, his life stories, his mentorship, and of course that SMILE.

To know him was to love him. A heart of gold. A real one. A REAL STANDUP GUY. One of the good ones, taken away from us abruptly and too soon. Leon's favorite things to do were build RC cars and performance motors, spend time with his family & friends, and work on cars and music.

He is preceded in death by his parents, as well as his older sister, Rachel; and nephew, Donte'.

He leaves to cherish his memories, his wife of 32 years, Althea; his children, Dalisha, La'Quandra, Le'Aizia & Dwight; his grandkids, Ja'Suan, Jayden, Lailah, Lauryn, Da'Vion, & Jalisha; siblings-Gilbert Jr. (Rhonda), Renee Jones, Ann Richardson, Roxanne Costen & George (Nancy); mother-in-law, Sandra McClure; sisters-in-law, Adrienne, Alisha (deceased) and Dwaneti; a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces & nephews and a great-great nephew, his Apocalypse and K.B.S.F families.   A very large host of extended family, friends, and loved ones that loved him as well.

Viewing will be held Friday, April 12, 2024 from 11:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. at Cooke Bros. Funeral Chapel, 1601-27th Street, Newport News, Va.  A funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 13, 2024 at the funeral chapel.
