Kim Gainey "New York" of Hampton Virginia, entered eternal rest on December 23, 2024, at Riverside Regional Medical Center in Newport News, Virginia.

Born to James and Glivia Lacewell Gainey raised on Long Island, New York, Kim attended the Uniondale school system, and later earned an Associate degree from Bryant & Stratton College in Virginia.

Later in life, he relocated to Virginia to be near his sister. It was there that he met and married the love of his life, Rhonda Marks Gainey, married seventeen years, they built a life filled with love and companionship.

A dedicated entrepreneur, Kim owned and operated his own car detailing business, "Just For Today Car Detailing by R&K", until his retirement. His commitment to excellence and passion for his craft left a lasting impression on those he served.

Kim was also known for his impeccable sense of style and deep appreciation for fashion. He often donned suits paired with matching hats and shoes, always presenting himself with exquisite style and class. His cheerful demeanor and ability to bring joy to any gathering will be fondly remembered by all who knew him.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Rhonda Marks Gainey; son by marriage Antoine Marks (Leah), two sisters, Carmela Porter (Ricardo) and Pamela Gainey; a brother, Raynard Gainey (predeceased by wife Paulette); two sister-in-laws Sharon Davis (Izell) and Debra Marks, one brother-in-law Kevin Marks (Paulina) as well as a host of godchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.  Kim's memory will forever live in the hearts of those who knew him.  May his legacy of joy, kindness, and love bring comfort to all who mourn his passing.

Viewing will be held from 9:00 a.m. until the Celebration of Life service starting at 12 Noon, Friday, January 10, 2025 at Cooke Bros. Funeral Chapel.  Interment will be in Hampton Memorial Gardens.
