Kevin Lamont
Dildy
d. Jun 10, 2026
On Wednesday, June 10, 2026, Kevin Lamont Dildy peacefully transitioned from this earthly life into eternal rest. While his passing leaves a void in the hearts of those who knew and loved him, we rejoice in the assurance of God’s promise and celebrate a life marked by faith, hard work, laughter, and genuine love for others.
Kevin was born on January 29, 1962, in Virginia to Martha L. Dildy and the late Thomas L. Dildy. From an early age, he developed a strong work ethic, a caring spirit, and a personality that could brighten any room.
He received his education through the Hampton City School system, attending Wythe Elementary School and graduating from Hampton High School. He later attended various trade schools, where he gained valuable skills and knowledge that would serve him throughout his career.
Kevin was employed by the City of Norfolk and was also the owner and operator of KD Practical Solutions Home Repairs and Lawn Care Services. Through his work, he became known for his dependability, craftsmanship, and willingness to help others.
A man of faith, Kevin loved the Lord and faithfully attended Gethsemane Baptist Church. He loved his pastor and church family dearly, and over the years they became much more than fellow worshippers, they became family. Kevin cherished the relationships he built within the church and valued every opportunity to worship and fellowship alongside those he loved.
Kevin genuinely loved people. He never missed an opportunity to strike up a conversation, share a laugh, or tell a joke, especially if he thought it would bring a smile to someone’s face. His sense of humor, outgoing personality, and caring heart made him a joy to be around. He also enjoyed good food and treasured the simple pleasures of spending time with family and friends.
Kevin was preceded in death by his father, Thomas L. Dildy; his brothers, Dennis A. Wooden and Phillip Dildy; and his uncle, Thurman Dildy.
He leaves to cherish his memory his loving mother, Martha L. Dildy; his children, Kevin L. Foster, Sr., Amber Stockley, Jerod Rouse, and Jamal Gilliam; his grandson, Kevin L. Foster, Jr.; his sisters, Ivy Dildy-McLeod, Robin Cole (Marcus), and Rozelle Dildy; his aunt, Lucille Dildy; the Wooden Family of Surry County, Virginia; Martha and William Haywood; Tina Turner; his dear friends, Tammy Pope, Linwood Byrd, Chucky Brinkley, and Herbert Apple; his beloved Gethsemane Baptist Church family; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, and friends who will forever cherish his memory.
A memorial service will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 24, 2026 at Gethsemane Baptist Church.
