Kemondie "Knowledge" Patterson, 53 , of Hampton VA., passed away unexpectedly Sept. 22, 2023.
Kemondie was born September 6, 1970, in his most favorite place on the planet Brooklyn, NY "Brownsville." He was a graduate of Phoebus High, Hampton, VA., and attended Commonwealth College. He also was a student of Life and Mathematics. PEACE!
Kemondie had an entrepreneur spirit and was not afraid to explore it. He had a janitorial business & dump truck. He was not afraid to try his hand at something new. Kemondie turned his love of hip hop into his label 9th Dynasty Records, where he was known as the artist KNOWA. His talents and music of Conscious Rap earned him a first-round nomination in the 45th Grammy Awards for his song. "No One" He also produced a weekly music show that aired on the WB Network.
His music tours "The Conscious Music Movement" allowed him to travel promoting and performing with other local artist. He enjoyed networking with others that shared his same passions. Kemondie also found happiness in cooking food. He opened a deli shop where he served sandwiches and his infamous Turkey Wing Dinners. Family and friends enjoyed the dishes that he prepared. His current project that he was working on was the food truck. He was looking forward to sharing his love of food to the area.
Kemondie never hesitated to listen to someone and give his understanding. He was a logical thinker, it had to make sense. He was calm, laidback, observant and had a confidence and swag that will be missed. His intelligence will continue to shine through his legacy that he leaves behind.
He leaves to cherish his loving memories, his loving wife, Lisa Parker-Patterson; two sons, Kevin and Laurence; two daughters, Kemani and Lekendra; his mother, Bessie Patterson; father, Ronald Connor; four brothers, Clifton Patterson, Kelly Patterson, Daamin Muhammad & Courtney Connor; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and many friends.
Viewing will be held Sunday, October 1, 2023 from 9:30 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. at Cooke Bros. Funeral Chapel. A service will be held 1:00 p.m. Monday, October 2, 2023 at Cooke Bros. Funeral Chapel, 1601-27th Street, Newport News, VA. 23607.
