Obituary

Junius Anthony White Sr. completed his earthly journey on Thursday April 3, 2025, in Newport News, Virginia and entered eternal peace with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Junius was born and raised in the James City County/Williamsburg area to Junius White and Eunice White on November 22,1960.  Junius affectionately called "Bug" by family and friends was a very caring and passionate man.  Junius "Bug" White Sr. was educated in the James City County/ Williamsburg Public School System. He graduated from Lafayette High School. All that knew Bug White, knew of his love of sports.  Bug was a diehard Washington Commander formerly known as the "Washington Redskins" fan. Because his love for sports, Bug was a very athletic young man and proved himself on the field and the court.  Bug received accolades for his athletic abilities which took him to a pro football camp.  Bug had an injury that changed the trajectory of his career goals.  Bug has always had a caring spirit and a desire to care for others.  Bug worked in the healthcare profession for most of his career with Eastern State Hospital as a Psych. Tech.  He worked there until he had his own personal health challenges.

Bug White was a loving father, grandfather and friend.  Bug enjoyed watching television and spending time with his family.

Bug was preceded in death by his parents, Junius and Eunice White and his sister Deborah White.

Bug leaves to cherish his memory two sons Junius A. White Jr. and Aaron A. White, a granddaughter Juliana Castello-White, Two sisters Kelly White, Brigette King and one brother Mark White.  Bug also leaves an array of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and a caring community of neighbors.

Viewing will be held Thursday, April 17, 2025 from 11:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. at Cooke Bros. Funeral Chapel, 1601-27th Street, Newport News, Va.  A funeral service will be held 12 Noon, Friday, April 18, 2025 at  Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church in Williamsburg, VA.
