Joyce B. Williams,"Mookie" transitioned from earth to glory, Monday, July 10, 2023. Joyce was born in Newport News, VA, on October 10, 1945 to the late Howard Bailey and Hattie Parker. She attended Huntington High School, Class of 1963.

Joyce's early employment includes, Hot Shoppe Cafeteria in Newport News and Hardees in Hampton. She retired from Riverside Health System after 30 plus years of service. She was a faithful member of Providence Baptist Church for over 50 years, serving on many auxillaries and singing in the choir, "We've Come This Far By Faith." If you knew Joyce, you loved her, she would light up a room with her smile and humor. She had a friendly personality and never met a stranger.

Joyce is survived by her Daughter, Felicia Laury (Robert), Sons, Darick, Travis (Dorothy-Deceased), and Steven (Robin). She also leaves behind one sister, Gwendolyn Walker, and a special friend that was just like a sister, Faye Moore; Grandchildren, Darick, Sherita, LaQuisha-Deceased, Abdul, Kortnee, Robert, and Atiba, Great Grandchildren, a host of family and friends. She was preceded in death by her Brother, Herbert Bailey, Sisters, Bettie Ann Bailey, Lenora Wardrick, Belinda White, and Elnora Wallace. She loved her family.

Viewing will be held Monday, July 17,2023 from 11:00 a.m. until 5:30 p.m. at Cooke Bros. Funeral Chapel, 1601-27th Street, Newport News, VA. 23607. A funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 18, 2023 at Providence Baptist Church, 1331-30th Street, Newport News, Va. Entombment will follow in Hampton Memorial Gardens.
