Joseph Jackson (1959-2023)

Joseph Jackson , aged 63, passed away on June 8, 2023, surrounded by his loved ones at Newport News Nursing & Rehab Center in Virginia. He was born on December 27, 1959, to the late Louise Jackson and Joseph Miles.

Joseph spent his early years in Johnston County and attended grade school there.  As he grew older, he ventured into the workforce and dedicated over 20 years of his life to working various jobs.  His strong work ethic and commitment were evident in his endeavors.

Left to cherish his memory is his nephew, Earl Overby of Newport News, VA, and his partner, Katherine Mays, also from Newport News, VA. Joseph was preceded in death by his sister, Pennie Irene Williams.  He is also survived by his nephews, Charles Jackson, residing in Maryland, and his niece, Rhonda Dunston, from Selma, NC. Sadly, Joseph was preceded in death by his sister, Kay Overby, nephew, Leon Jones, and his niece, Brenda Williams.  In addition to his immediate family, he leaves behind a host of other relatives and friends who will miss him dearly.

Joseph Jackson will be remembered for his strong spirit, unwavering dedication, and the love he shared with those closest to him.  His presence in their lives will be deeply missed, but his memory will live on in their hearts.  Services are private.
