Mr. James Melvin Hairston entered eternal rest on Saturday, February 14, 2026 at Sentara Careplex Hospital. Viewing will be held from 11:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Friday, March 6, 2026 at Cooke Bros. Funeral Chapel. A Celebration of Life service will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 7, 2026 at Gospel Spreading Church in Newport News, VA. Interment will be in Albert G. Horton, Jr. Memorial Veterans Cemetery in Suffolk, VA. at a later date.
