Henry Beamon Rice, Jr. (Buster/Puddin') , 79, of Hampton, Virginia passed away peacefully on December 14, 2025, surrounded by loved ones. He was born on January 11, 1947 in Newport News, Virginia to Henry Beamon Sr. and Brownie B. Rice.  Buster was a beloved brother, father, grandfather, and uncle.  He was known for his humor and unwavering strength.

Henry Beamon Rice, Jr. graduated from Huntington High School in 1965, and then served 7 years in the Army during the Vietnam Era.  He went on to work 40 years before retiring in 2020 at the Newport News Shipyard.  He was passionate about bowling.  Buster is remembered for his faithful care of his son, Dion Rice until 2022.

Henry Beamon Rice, Jr. is survived by his brother Roland (Marilyn) Rice, children Henry Beamon Rice, III, and Heather Michel Harmon (Lynell Taylor) granddaughter Aliyah Monet Harmon, and many dear aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.  He was preceded in death by his parents Henry Beamon Sr. and Brownie B. Rice, his brothers Herbert Rice and Allan Mitchell Rice, and his son Dion Rice.

The family of Henry Beamon Rice, Jr. wishes to express their heartfelt appreciation for all the acts of kindness, prayers, and support during this difficult time. Your love and compassion have been a source of comfort and strength.

Viewing will be held from 11:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Friday, January 2, 2026 at Cooke Bros. Funeral Chapel.  A Celebration of Life service will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 3, 2026 at Macedonia Baptist Church.  Interment will be in Hampton Memorial Gardens.
