Helen Delores Bandy, 97 of Hampton went on to glory on June 2, 2023.  She was born on May 8, 1926 in Enfield, North Carolina.  Helen was preceded in death by her husband Ralph "Buddy" Bandy.  She was a member of the first graduating class of Peninsula Business College in Newport News.  Helen retired from Fort Eustis serving as the Director of Finance and Accounting.

Helen's sharp wit and caring personality remained with her until her last day.  She is survived by her daughter, Ann Bandy Cherry (Alonzo); two sisters Jeanette Wilson and Nora Mebans; two granddaughters, Kina Stephens and Davette Harper (Deveron), and five great grandchildren.

A viewing will be held on Wednesday, June 7 at Cooke Bros. Funeral Chapel from 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM.  A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, June 8 at 11:00 AM at First Baptist Church East End, 3000 Jefferson Ave., Newport News.  The Celebration of Life service will be live streamed via the church's website at myfbcee.org and FBCEE facebook page.  Entombment will follow at Hampton Memorial Gardens.
