Her home and kitchen were always opened to family and friends. She was a woman of prayer and the matriarchal pillar in her family. She was a strong, resilient, leader and the epitome of elegance.

Hattie was a long-standing member of Zion Baptist Church.  In her earlier years, she served as a member of the Zion Baptist Missionary Board and the Golden Age Club. Prior to her passing she was one of the oldest living members at ZBC.  Hattie was a woman who feared the Lord and praised Him expressively and unashamedly.
