Harold James Lee, 80 passed into eternal life on February 27, 2012 in Hampton ,VA. He was born in Elizabeth City County, (Hampton, VA ) on February 17, 1932 to the late Junius and Daisy Lee. He served in the United States Air Force and received and honorable discharge after several years of active duty. Mr. Lee retired from Anheuser Busch after more than 20 years of service and was a faithful member of Miracle Temple Baptist Church. Mr. Lee served on the gleaners ministry until his health began to fail. He was preceded in death by three brothers: McKinley Lee, Walter Lee, and William (Pat) Lee. He is survived by his beloved wife of 52 years, Mrs. Bessie Lee, five sons: Lin Hopson of Chesapeake, VA, Harold Lee Jr. (Dorothy), Michael Lee (Candace) of Newport News, VA, Derrick Lee of Burksville, VA and Marty Lee (Alfreda) of Richmond ,VA, two daughters: Shelia Smallwood (James) of Carrollton, VA and Poneice Lee of Hampton, eleven grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren, one sister Doris Haywood of Williamsburg, VA , one sister-in-law Inez Lee one brother-in-law, Thomas Hopson (Molly) and a host of other relatives and friends. Viewing will be held on Friday from 12 Noon until 8:00 PM at Cooke Bros. Funeral Chapel. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM Saturday, March 3, 2012 at Miracle Temple Baptist Church 617-32nd Street, Newport News, VA with the Reverend Floyd M. Blackwell , officiating. Interment will follow in Hampton Memorial Gardens. Family and friends are to assemble at 30 Wexford Hill Road, Hampton, VA 23666 by 12 Noon. Saturday.
