Gail Amanda Sanders, 69 , devoted Jehovah's Witness, departed this life on September 5, 2023 in Newport News, VA.

She was born February 22, 1954 to Johnnie Dilday and George "Lump" Lumpkins. She attended Kecoughtan High School. Gail married Brady Sanders on June 24, 1991. She spent the bulk of her life being a dedicated wife and mother.

She was preceded in death by her oldest daughter, Teresa Bibbs; and is survived by four children: Aisha (Leland) Hope, Rishima Alston, Solomon (Tracey) Bassette, and Chester Bassette. She is survived by 9 grandchildren: Marquis and Ri'Shawn Bassette, Jovonn Quillen, Tiana Carter, Saniya and Solomon Bassette Jr., Nevaeh Hope, Chasity and Sincere Bassette and 2 great grandchildren: Marquis Jr. and Malachi Bassette.

She is preceded in death by her brothers: Otis Bivins, Andrew Hill, and Irvin "Darnell" Hill. She is survived by her brothers, Frank (Angel) Bivins, George (Nichole), Lenny (Yolandis), Keith (Cassandra) Curtis, Sean, and Troy Lumpkins. She is survived by her sisters: Vernette Leeman, Evon Ferrell, and Annette Bivins. She also leaves behind a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, friends and adopted children.

She was baptized at the Kingdom Hall in August 2017 and was heavily involved in the Kingdom Hall and her field service until her health decline. Gail loved to fish. She loved to spend quality time with her family. She enjoyed playing cards and given the nickname "Spade G" for her skills on the Spades Table.

She is gone but never forgotten. Everyone who met Gail was a witness to her kind heart, her loving ways, and her motherly nature. She always opened her heart and home to those in need.
