Obituary

Florence "Snook" M. Mike was born on 22 January 1936 in Tarboro, North Carolina to Mrs. Lendora Garrett Wiggins.  She attended Newsome Park Elementary School in Newport News and entered the work force at an early age.  She last worked at the Die Tool and Mold Company in Hampton, Virginia.  She lived a long, full, and robust life succumbing to a lengthy illness and passing away at Riverside Hospital on Sunday, 19 October 2025.

Florence was proceeded in death by her mother, Lendora Wiggins; her brother, Exum Wiggins Jr.; and her sister, Rosie Lee Cooper.  She leaves behind seven children: Stanley M. Wiggins of Newport News, Joseph E. Wiggins (wife Virginia) of Newport News, James E. Davis of Newport News, Linda D. Davenport (husband Mark) of Hampton, Raymond A. Wiggins of Washington D.C., Sara Ann Wiggins of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; and Kenny Ray Mike of Newport News.  In addition, she leaves behind fourteen grandchildren, ten nieces and nephews, a host of great grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held at Cooke Brothers Funeral Home, 1601 27th Street, Newport News, on 28 October 2025 at 11:00 A.M.  The burial will take place immediately after the funeral at Greenlawn Memorial Park Cemetery, 2700 Parish Avenue, Newport News.  A repass, for the family, will take place at 6 Leahs Trace, Hampton, Virginia immediately after the burial.
