Estella Chadwick-Taylor transitioned on Wednesday, August 27, 2025, in Riverside Regional Medical Center, Newport News, VA.

She was a resident of Newport News for more than 70 years; however, she was a native of Onslow County, North Carolina.

She is survived by her children: Rosa Vaughan (Shelvin), Cynthia Brown (Michael), Cornethia Sanderson (Tony), Teresa Sewell, Andréa Chadwick-Terry, Chantley Hawkins (Samantha), Shanile Holloway, Shawn Hall, and Danny Hall; two sisters: Annie Norman and Audrey Chadwick (Manley); one brother: Herman Speight (Shirley), and a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends.

Viewing will be held 11:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 3, 2025 at Cooke Bros. Funeral Chapel, 1601-27th Street, Newport News, Va. A funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Thursday, September 4, 2025 at St. Paul A.M.E. Church, 2500 Chestnut Avenue, Newport News, Va. Interment will follow in Hampton Memorial Gardens.
