In God’s word, everything has a season, and on Thursday, April 23, 2026, at the tender age of 26, God called our beloved Eric Patrick Scesco to eternal rest as his season came to pass. His life’s journey began on July 5, 1999, in Washington, D.C.

He was the son of the late Jacquelyn W. Scesco and Oscar Scesco.  Eric’s early years were spent in Maryland and Arizona.  He received his formal education from Lake Taylor High School in Norfolk, VA.  Eric was a proud member of the Class of 2018 and was later employed with the Cook Out restaurant chain as a team lead.  He spent his last days working for Dodge’s Southern Style.  Eric was respected by his peers for his work ethic and kindness.

Eric’s true passions, however, lay in his dreams and interests.  He harbored a deep desire to join the Army, fueled by his love for video games involving combat and strategy.  A self-proclaimed information technology enthusiast with an interest in war history, Eric was captivated by the world of superheroes, manga, and One Piece, as well as Vikings and the idea of Valhalla, where he is believed to have earned his seat in the golden hall.  Engaging with these stories brought him peace and happiness, as he found solace and inspiration in their tales of bravery, resilience, and brotherhood.

Eric was preceded in death by his sister, Stacia Gilliard-Mathews, and his brother, Roderick Scesco.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory his siblings Sylvester Gilliard, Robert Scesco, Davonte Scesco, Erykah Scesco, and Yasmeen Scesco; and his nephew, Trey Gilliard, along with a host of loving relatives and many caring friends.

A memorial service will be held 12 Noon, Saturday, May 16, 2026 at Cooke Bros. Funeral Chapel.
