Emma Elizabeth Henry , 75, passed away December 12, 2024. Born on July 31, 1949.  Emma was a lifelong resident of Newport News, where she completed her early education, culminating in her graduation from Huntington High School in 1967.  Emma went on to complete vocational training, receiving a diploma in licensed practical nursing, leading to a more than 30-year career in helping those in the community.

Emma was predeceased by the love of her life, her husband Dexter Milton Henry; her mother, Elizabeth R. Gray; father, Virgil Milo; stepfather Franklin D. Gray; and her brother, James Roberson.

Those left to hold her in their memories include her daughters, Kellie Owens (Mark ) of Bradenton, Fl., and Dextrina Thomas of Newport News; grandson Blair Ricks; granddaughters Maakya Morgan, True and Sky McGuire.  She is also survived by her siblings Lois Gary, Christine Banks, Franklin D. Roberson Jr., Keith B. Roberson, and Kevin B. Roberson and a number of nieces and nephews.

Viewing will be held from 9:00 a.m. until the Celebration of Life service starting at 12:00 p.m. Saturday, December 21, 2024 at Cooke Bros. Funeral Chapel.  Interment will be in Hampton Memorial Gardens.
