Mr. Eldridge "Tony" Marshall , passed on November 4, 2024. He was born May 3, 1948 to the late Harrell and Daisy Marshall.

Growing up, his family attended First Church of Newport News. Tony attended the Newport News Public School System, he also attended Virginia Union University and Norfolk State University.  Tony played an important role in the establishing the Aberdeen Athletics Association and also founding the "Aberdeen Deen Day", where people from the community would come together and celebrate. He also received an award from former President Ronald Reagan.

Tony enjoyed spending time with his family and watching football, especially those Pittsburg Steelers.

Along with his parents, Tony was preceded in death by a daughter, Brenda Marshall; and a brother, Rodney Marshall.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his son, Andrew Marshall (Josephine Gainer) of Hampton, Virginia; his grandchildren, Briana Alson-Kellam, and Prestynn Marshall; his sister, Barbara Marshall Faison of Connecticut; a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

A funeral service will be held 12 Noon, Monday, November 18, 2024 at Cooke Bros. Funeral Chapel, 1601-27th Street, Newport News, Va. Interment will follow in Hampton Memorial Gardens.
