Diamante T.
Neal
d. Nov 29, 2025
Diamante Tre'Veon Neal was born on July 30, 1999, in Newport News, Virginia, to Courtney Brown and Dion Neal. From the start, Diamante carried a bold and beautiful spirit. A gentle giant with a fearless heart, he was deeply devoted to his family, fiercely protective of his siblings, and loyal beyond measure to his friends and co-workers.
Diamante had a sense of humor and a smile that could brighten any space. He lived with optimism and courage, always reaching for something bigger and greater than what surrounded him. He refused to be confined by limits, believing instead in the endless possibility that greatness and success was his portion.
A 2017 graduate of Woodside High School, Diamante was a natural mentor and leader. Giving back to the youth was close to his heart, and he did so proudly through coaching and mentorship with the Tri-Citi Hurricanes youth football team, where he inspired young athletes with discipline, encouragement, and love.
After some time in the work force, Diamante pursued a career at the Norfolk Shipyard, he was in the process obtaining his credentials on becoming a Merchant Seaman. He faced every challenge with determination and perseverance, never letting obstacles deter him from his dreams.
Music was one of Diamante's deepest loves. Under the stage name "Luh Ghost", Diamante wrote and produced over three dozen songs written from 2020-2025. Through his lyrics and beats, he poured out his soul—sharing stories of struggle, triumph, hope, and identity. His artistry reflected a vision far beyond the borders of Newport News; it was a dream destined for global stages.
In 2025, Diamante achieved a personal milestone when he obtained his passport and traveled to Barbados in August to celebrate his birthday—the furthest any of his siblings had ventured outside the country. Just two months later, in October, he attended the MASA Tour to support his favorite artist, NBA Youngboy—a moment that brought him immense inspiration to continue going after his dream.
He was preceded in death by great-grandmothers Nettie Mae Mattocks and Louise Black-Brown; paternal grandmother Darlene George; and godfather Clifton "Smiley" Mercer.
Diamante leaves behind his siblings: Jazzmen Price of Washington, DC; Diamond Brown of Hampton, VA; Maleah Harrington, Yorktown, VA ; Deona Neal, Danesha Neal, and Dion Neal Jr., all of Newport News, VA.
Though Diamante's time on earth was brief, the depth of his impact is immeasurable. His legacy is one of love without limits, laughter that echoes in memory, dreams pursued with fearless conviction—and above all—a life lived authentically.
