On Tuesday, August 26, 2025, Delgracia Feaster Goodman Mitchell departed this world to a place of eternal rest.  Del was born July 30, 1943 in Winnsboro, SC to the late Thelma Martin and David L. Feaster Sr.

Educated in Greensboro, North Carolina's public schools, Delgracia Graduated from James B. Dudley High School in 1960. Before Del relocated to Hampton, she and her family attended Shiloh Baptist Church in Greensboro, NC. Delgracia attended Hampton Institute, now known as Hampton University. She Graduated in 1964. She began her teaching career in Newport News, VA at Huntington High School at the age of 20, not much older than the seniors she taught in her English classes. Later she taught in Hampton City Schools at Thorpe Junior High School, Jones Middle School, and Eaton Middle School she then taught at Hampton High School as the final Chapter of her career as an Educator. After 36 years of dedication to her students, she retired in 2000.

Just like Del's love of fashion, she had a passion for crafting and creating unique stationery and personalized gifts for her family and friends. Every holiday you would always know that her home would be decorated beautifully. She always made the holidays extra special.

Delgracia leaves to cherish her memory a daughter, Terri Goodman Henry, Hampton, VA; son, Cary LaMont (Monty) Goodman, Richmond, VA; grandson, Myles Henry, Panama City, FL; sister, Cassandra F. Hamilton (Fred); brother, David L. Feaster Jr (Patricia), Newport News, VA and Greensboro, NC; niece, Keisa Hamilton, Hampton, VA; nephew, Marques Hamilton (Kisha), Hampton, VA; great-nieces,  India Hamilton-Brown, Richmond, VA and Kali Hamilton; great-nephews, Timothy Williams, Kingston and Christian Hamilton; aunt, Martha Feaster Greensboro, NC and a host of relative and friends.

Viewing will be held Saturday, September 6, 2025 from 10:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. at Cooke Bros. Funeral Chapel, 1601-27th Street, Newport News, Va. A funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m. Sunday, September 7, 2025 at the funeral chapel.
