Conchita Rush received her wings on Saturday, September 16,2023, when God called her from labor into rest.  She was born on November 1, 1943.  She was preceded in death by her mother, Juanita Byrd and stepfather, Lee Byrd.

Conchita was very involved with her church in Philadelphia before moving to Newport News, Virginia; she diligently served on the Nursing Ministry as well as other ministries of that church.  After moving to Virginia, Conchita joined Macedonia Baptist Church in Newport News, Virginia, where she was a faithful and dedicated member.  Conchita also loved to cook.

In addition to her mother and stepfather, Conchita was preceded in death by her brother, Robert Smith.

Conchita was a devoted wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother and aunt.  She leaves to cherish her memories:  Her faithful husband, Pinkney Rush; four children, Joyce Pearson, James Blake, William Blake and Karen Weatherbee; siblings, Beatrice Lee, Rita Stewart, Elaine Webb, Shirley Johnson, Leroy Byrd and William Byrd; and a host of grand-children, great grand-children, nieces, nephews,

A memorial service will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, September 29, 2023 at Macedonia Baptist Church, 5500 Marshall Avenue, Newport News, VA.
