Clarence Williams, Sr. was born on  August 21, 1947, to the late Larry and Reatha Williams in Newport News, Va. Clarence entered into eternal rest on August 12, 2020, peacefully at Riverside Regional Medical Center in Newport News, Va.

Clarence was educated in the Newport News public school system and was a graduate of George Washington Carver High School. Clarence later enlisted in the United States Army and served two terms during the Vietnam War.

Clarence had a love for music and spending time with friends and family. Some would say he was a great entertainer. He started the Clarence Williams Entertainment business where he helped many local artist and friends develop their careers.  He was always willing to offer help to those in need. His musical talent included singing with the group The Chandelier's to managing his younger brother the late guitarist David Williams.  To know him was to love him. He was truly one of a kind.

Clarence leaves to cherish his memory, his wife Patricia, son Clarence Jr. (Martina);  daughter, Kindra (Tarik) and his baby girl Phyllicia Niccolle (Baby-Baby); four grandsons; Xavior,  Amadi and twin grandsons Cacey, and Cortney; two granddaughters, Tania and Jala; one brother Larry Williams, two sisters; Delores Majors and Elaine Patterson; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Clarence is preceded in death by his brother, David Williams, and his sister Doris Carmichael.

The viewing will be held 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Monday, August 24, 2020 at Cooke Bros. Funeral Chapel. The Home Going service  take place at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel.  Interment will follow in Albert G. Horton Jr. Memorial Veterans Cemetery, Suffolk, Va.
