Mr. Charles Jones, Jr. , a longtime resident of Yorktown , VA died peacefully in his sleep on May 1, 2023, after a lengthy illness.  He was preceded in death by Frances Jones, his wife of 71 years.

Mr. Jones was a veteran, who served his country in U.S. Army, retiring with the rank of Colonel.  In addition, he had a 45-year career with the United States Postal Service in New York, NY where he was born and raised.

Mr. Jones involved himself in his adopted Yorktown community by serving as a poll monitor in many elections throughout the years, a role he took very seriously.  Until his illness, he was also an active member of NARFE (National Active and Retired Federal Employees), Chapter 682.

Mr. Jones is survived by his four daughters and their families: Patricia and Robert Johnson and their son and daughter in law, Ryan, and Justina; Susan Thompson and daughter in law Yvonne; Francine and Richard Galindo and their children Cecelia and Anthony; and Charlene Jones.  Mr. Jones also leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, and many lifelong friends.

The family will have a private memorial for their beloved father at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to the American Cancer Society.
