Catrina Lynette Curry (Mitchell), 59, affectionately known as "T" , passed away on August 19, 2025, in Newport News, Virginia, at the
age of 59. Born on May 9, 1966, in the same city she called home throughout her life, Catrina's journey was one marked by deep devotion to family and a vibrant spirit that touched all who knew her.

Catrina was a woman of warmth and strength—outgoing, adventurous, spirited, and loving. She embraced life with an open heart and a fierce loyalty to those she held dear. Her home was often filled with music and laughter, especially during holidays and family celebrations that she cherished so deeply. Whether it was preparing a favorite meal in the kitchen or capturing memories through scrapbooking, Catrina found joy in the everyday moments that brought her closer to her loved ones.

She is survived by her devoted husband, Peter L. Curry; her sons Brian L. Mitchell (Keschona Mitchell), Xavier Mitchell, Eric Mitchell, Kelvin L. Mitchell, and Shawn Mitchell; her daughters Tiffany L. Mitchell and Ashley N. Mitchell; and eight beloved grandchildren who brought immense pride and happiness into her life.

Catrina's legacy lives on through the traditions she nurtured and the love she poured into every gathering. Her presence will be deeply missed but forever remembered by those fortunate enough to have shared in her life.

A funeral service honoring Catrina's life will be held on Wednesday, September 3, 2025, at 11:00 AM, with public viewing/visitation two hours prior, at Cooke Bros. Funeral Chapel located at 1601 27th Street in Newport News, Virginia.

May her memory bring comfort to those who knew and loved her. An Internment will be held right afterwards at 1:00 PM at Hampton Memorial Gardens at 155 Butler Farm Rd in Hampton, Virginia.
