Cathleen Oliver entered eternal rest on Friday, July 25, 2025 in the comfort of her residence.

Cathleen Oliver was a loving mother, daughter, sister, grandmother, aunt, cousin and friend.  She was born on March 16, 1952 in Summerton South Carolina to Pickney Oliver and Plush Holladay.

Cathleen moved to NY at the age of 16 and that is where she began to raise her seven children.  She had various jobs but nothing beat taking care of others.  If the opportunity came along for her to put others before herself or extend her hand for help she never hesitated.  Years later, she returned back to South Carolina to take care of her ill mother.

Cathleen also known as "Cat" was nothing short of spunky, feisty, she'd always have a great slogan to have you thinking and she had a heart of gold.  She was the life of the party!!! She dressed her absolute best, made sure her curls were tight, she loved her music, she absolutely loved to dance and she loved her scratch tickets.  She loved her family but nothing beats the love that she had for her children.  Not a day went by where Cathleen didn't talk to her children, her family was arguably her most important achievement in life.  Some of her last words were "as long as my kids are good, then I'm good".

Cathleen became a member of the True Vine Baptist in Newport News, VA in July 2023.  There she made great friends and built her own extended family.  She was dedicated and devoted to her belief in God, she'd never miss service if she could help it.  She also made good friends with Pastor Daniel McMillan 111 that always made sure she made service and helped her out with anything she needed.

Cathleen leaves to mourn her children Katherine, Angela, James, Jennifer and Aisha Oliver.  Her grandchildren Iesha, Shaniece, Dayvonna, Andrea, Tiffany, Joe, Donovan, Kinard, Kawan, Ahmad, James, Marquise, Kayveon, Demetrius, Tyshaya, Moshaya, Tyson and Kimora.  Three Great grandsons Carmelo DuBose, Josiah Reid and Jeremiah Oliver.  One living sister Sara Ann Oliver and one living brother Joe Louis Oliver. Cathleen leaves a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Cathleen now ascend to transition with her late parents Plush and Pinkney Oliver, Her two sons Joe Louis and Tyrone Oliver, and her siblings.

Cathleen was strong, she was a fighter and a warrior!

While Cathleen will be missed she fought a good fight with incredible strength and grace.

Viewing will be held from 9:00 a.m. until the Celebration of Life service starting at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 2, 2025 at True Vine Baptist Church in Newport News, VA.
