Catherine W. Jarrett received her heavenly wings on Thursday March 9, 2023, surrounded by her family.

Catherine was born January 19, 1942, in Murfreesboro, NC to the late Aaron and Irene Weaver.  She accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at Jordan Grove Baptist Church in Winton, NC and when she moved to Hampton, VA she joined Riverview Baptist Church which is now Spirit of Life Christian Church where she was a faithful member and served in various ministries Usher, Senior Choir, Hospitality and Powerful Overcoming Women (POW).

She graduated from C.S. Brown High School in Winton, NC.  She met the love of her life Lawrence Jarrett, and they were married April 21, 1962, and they moved to Hampton, VA.  From this union came two amazing daughters Cynthia and Stephanie.  Catherine was a homemaker, and her first job was at Giant Burger for many years and later she worked in the snack bar at Farm Fresh until her health started to decline.

She leaves to cherish her memories her devoted husband for 60 years, Lawrence Jarrett of Hampton, VA.; two daughters, Cynthia Hodges, Stephanie Butler (Ray); and her grandchildren, Ronald Hodges II and Symone' Berry.  Her sister, Betty Myrick of Como, NC and brother, Clifton Fred Weaver of Murfreesboro, NC., and a host of nieces and nephews and other relatives, friends, and church family.

She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Viewing will be held Friday, March 17, 2023 from 11:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. at Cooke Bros. Funeral Chapel, 1601-27th Street, Newport News, VA. A funeral service will be held 12:00 Noon, Saturday, March 18, 2023 at Spirit of Life Christian Church, 94 Lincoln Street, Hampton, Va. Entombment will follow in Hampton Memorial Gardens.
