Betty L.
Ingram
d. Apr 20, 2023
Betty Louise Ingram fell asleep in death on Thursday, April 20, 2023.
She was a member of the Calvary Seventh Day Adventist Church, Newport News, Virginia. She was the salt of the earth and a modest, level-headed, private person. Noteworthy were her efforts to share her beliefs with others, her humility, kindness, generosity, and love. She was most happy when she could share a meal and a conversation with others. She enjoyed coloring books, sending cards and notes to loved ones, game shows, "60 Minutes", David Muir, an occasional meal from "Piccadilly's", and watching the Washington Football team sometimes, i.e., when they were winning.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents, Lunnette Gaston and Roy Gaston, her husband, Ripley L. Ingram, Sr., and a daughter, Belinda Carroll Byers. Left to cherish her memory and lament her passing is her sister, Julia Kitchen of Odenton, MD, her sister-in-law, Jacqueline Miles of Atlanta, GA, two sons Ripley Ingram of Hampton, VA, and Larry Ingram of Fredericksburg, VA, a daughter, Janice Simmons (Reuben) of Temple Hills, MD, eight grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren, and numerous other relatives and friends.
A Celebration of Life service will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, April 28, 2023 at Calvary Seventh Day Adventist Church. There will be NO public viewing.
