Betty M.
Fennell
d. Jan 9, 2024
Betty Mae Fennell was a loving Wife, Mother, Na-Na, Sister and Friend. On January 9, 2024, she received her breakthrough and entered the gates of Heaven at 5:17p.m.
She entered this world on May 1, 1953 to the hands of James and Alunice Riddick of Newport News, Virginia. In 1971, she graduated from Menchville High and married her late husband Joe Willis Fennell, Sr. Together, they had 3 children: YoVonda, Natasha and Joe, Jr. Her family continued to multiple with the birth of her 4 grandchildren: Zoe, Zaria, Jazmyn and Ezriella.
Mom enjoyed sewing, styling hair and cooking. She was well known for her signature dessert which was homemade bread pudding with lemon sauce. Family was important to her. Through good times and bad times, she always did her best to keep the family close because she would always say "All we have is each other."
In the early 2000s, she gave her life to Christ and became a dedicated member of The Peninsula Pentecostals. There, she attended service regularly and always enjoyed being apart of friendship groups, attending church banquets and volunteering her time to the Lord. Mom spent most of her days reading about the word and encouraging others to do the same. And in return, the Lord was ready to call her home to be at rest and peace for eternity with her husband.
Funeral service will be held at The Peninsula Pentecostals 404 Sharon Drive Newport News, VA 23602. Any questions can be directed to Natasha Rocha at interpreter2b@yahoo.com.
