Ben Albert "Chuckie" Thompson , born September 11, 1953 in Mecklenburg, Co., Va., passed away Wednesday, November 8, 2023 at Riverside Regional Medical Center.

One of six children born to Charles, Sr. and Nannie Thompson.  He attended public school in Newport News, Va., where he excelled in sports, especially baseball.  Even after high school, several of his family members and friends played in an adult league.  Ben is also a former soldier having served proudly in the United States Army.  He retired as a forklift driver from Tim Norman Construction Company.  He would often point out different buildings that his company had erected.

Ben was predeceased by his parents Charles, Sr. and Nannie Thompson; his twin daughter, Komeka Thompson and her son, Jalin Ward.

"Chuckie" is survived by his children: a son, Derrick Richardson; two daughters, Tomeka Thompson and Latrina Shawnta Davis, and a bonus daughter, Talicia Thompson; his grandchildren: his twin grandsons, Aric and Derik Thompson; granddaughters, Talya and Taryn Richardson, JaQuala Fulgham and Aalyiah Davis; two great-grandchildren: Zaxai Sanford and Kalaio Gomes and two bonus great-grandchildren.

In addition to his children and grandchildren, "Chuckie" is also survived by his siblings, Charles, Jr., Dennis and Gloria Thompson, Louise Pettus, and Dr. Mattie Fallen (Lt. Colonel Larry Fallen, U.S. Army, Retired).

He is also survived by two former wives, mothers of his children, Gladys Turner and Christine Davis; nieces, nephews, cousins and friends, too numerous to name.

Viewing will be held from 9:00 a.m. up until the Celebration of Life service starting at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, November 18, 2023 at Cooke Bros. Funeral Chapel.  The Interment will be in Albert G. Horton, Jr. Memorial Veterans Cemetery at a later date.
